Hi, and welcome to a Story in Stone!

My name is Myka Boots, and this is my story.  

I live with my little family in Aotearoa/New Zealand on a special Island called Waiheke Island, which is just off the east coast of Tāmaki Makaurau/Auckland.   

Since a young boy stones have always held a special place in my life. I have spent much time climbing mountains, exploring streams, and walking along the coast of remote beaches, searching for all types of special treasures that may find me along the way.  

Formed inside a galaxy many years ago, these stones were created deep within our Earth’s crust. Over time, they were pushed up to mountain tops, transforming as they tumbled down to where they rest today.  

About 17 years ago, I discovered my passion for carving. Working with the stones I had collected over a lifetime led me to recognize their unique way of connecting with our inner energy. 

I now have a home studio on our land here which looks over the native forest and birds of Hekerua Bay. 

Over time I learned more about the magic these stones hold, how each carries its own unique energy, much like a song. We can’t see the music playing, but we can hear and feel it. Similarly, a stone emits its own invisible song, encoded with a geometric pattern that radiates a healing frequency, shaping the way we experience life and connect to the land.  

I carve to deepen this connection between human and stone, with each piece created with a blessing and love.  

My belief and intention are to create a more beautiful life experience for the wearer and all that surrounds them.
